1Buyer beware! - poorly designed product and time-consuming, difficult to assemble with terrible instructions!
By Vincent
I spent a lot of time researching outdoor patio heaters and finally settled on this one. Looks good from the photos. It arrived in a massive box with lots of parts that immediately was a turn-off. The copper colored plate was dented in upon delivery. The instructions were about the worst I've ever seen. Poorly printed, pictures not easily corresponding to reality, very sparse descriptions, and no telephone or website to contact for customer support. A search using google and youtube and found no downloadable instructions, no video instructions, no discussion forums to help. I'm very proficient in mechanical things, but I found the assembly to be frustrating and maddening. The actual components are not machined well. The design of the product is poor. Holes are not large enough for provided screws, requiring a trip to Home Depot for slightly larger screws, and for some holes an electric drill to widen the holes. The metal components are full of industrial dust which got all over the house and all over me (you get filthy assembling it). The wheels are not large enough to raise the device with a slit tilt so the machine drags as you tilt and pull it. The wheels also contain a sharp edge which creates unsightly tracks in our wood patio as it gets moved from one place to another. The water weight at the base is so poorly designed that it makes it impossible to fill once it is assembled in place, and worse, the water sloshes around and leaks out as you move the device. Just a terrible design. There is no mention of a battery in the instructions, and no picture of where the battery goes - although a battery is needed (you need to unscrew the ignition knob, which we found by chance). The propane tank connector was challenging to tighten properly - instructions said to not tighten too much, but the propane gas leaked (by detegent bubble test) until I had to buy two wrenches that fit both bolts and really work to tighten it. The instructions for use on the column are 180° opposite from the control panel so you need to constantly move around the machine to reference it. Over all, it took 3 months between receiving the product and getting it to work given all the problems we had. By the time I realized how poor the product was, so much time had already gone into assembling it that it would have been a massive chore to dissemble it and return the product. Once we did get it to work, it appears to be OK. But I would not recommend this product to anyone based on the terrible design, poor construction, poor assembly instructions, and lack of customer support.

5Nice unit, throws a lot of heat
By A. J. Freed
The assembly instructions were not particularly clear, but then it will not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. The unit looks good and it does throw quite a bit of heat. As with any heater of this type its usefulness when it is windy out, is minimized. The unit itself is well built. I only wish that the "hat" were a bit larger. The "hat" or dome, was sent in 4 pieces and I believe it was sized to fit the shipping container. It would probably be a better product if it had a larger dome to distribute the heat a bit better. Overall, however, I am very satisfied.
